What cable terminations are used with AvertX Cameras
AvertX cameras use a standard RJ45 female receptacle. The actual pinout of the female receptacle on the camera dongle or jack is not
specified for the purpose of this article. This article refers to the RJ45 (male) connections used to interconnect devices. There is an industry standard
for wiring Ethernet network connectivity between network hardware.
The are two types of wiring standards when using the RJ45 EIA/TIA industry standard connector: 568A and 568B.
- 568B: If the first and second pin show orange wire, the cable is 568B (recommended scheme).
- 568A: If the first and second pins show green wire, the cable is 568A.
- If one end of the cable is A and the other end is B then you now have a cross-over cable.
AvertX equipment should be connected with a standard A or B straight-through cable connection, where both ends are wired the same.
Note: A
crossover type of connection should not be used. A cross-over cable could affect/damage equipment that use Power Over Ethernet (POE) standards.
