How to reboot or power cycle a ProConnect recorder
NVRs sometimes need the software restarted to refresh memory or reload instruction code.
Randomly unplugging an NVR from its power source to turn off or reboot it isn't recommended as the default option. Unplugging a recorder from power while it's in operation will interrupt services, but could cause software/hardware issues.
Follow the instructions guide below to reboot the software of your recorder without removing power.
1. Login to your recorder.
2. Navigate to the Setup menu, located at the top of the screen. From a web browser, the Setup icon is at the top right hand side:
2. Navigate to the 'Power Options" tab on the bottom left corner.
3. When connected directly to the console, the Power Option will show Power Off and Restart options. Power Off can only be done when physically at the NVR. When connected remotely through a web browser, the Power Option menu will only show the Restart option. Select the Restart option to reboot the recorder's software.
