How do I update the Operating System on my ProConnect Recorder?
In most cases, an outdated ProConnect operating system image can be upgraded without a doing a
system reimage/factory default reset. The operating system contains files and tools referenced by the software/firmware. The ProConnect software/firmware can be updated separately.
Use this article to find the
current firmware/software and Operating System / Image version for the ProConnect NVRs.
To update the ProConnect operating system image:
- Log into your AvertX ProConnect recorder Locally or through AvertX Connect with an AvertX Connect account.
- Click on Setup at the NVR console, or the gear icon in the upper right menu bar when using a computer.
- Under System Settings, click on System Settings > Settings menu.
- Select the Software tab.
- Select the Software Upgrade tab and click Show More Options.
- Select the Specify URL radio button.
- Copy this URL: https://avx-prod-files.s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com/update/nvrosimage/any-to-2.8.27.82.48.74_AV.32258.03L.osp
- Paste the URL in the Specify URL text box.
- Click the Install button. The download should initiate in 1-2 minutes. If not, click Install again. A download percentage bar will appear once the download initiates. The recorder continues to record video while the download is in progress.
- After the download reaches 100%, the file will then be extracted and a behind-the-scenes installation will begin. The update process is represented by a spinning circular haptic feedback icon.
Once the update begins, recording will be briefly paused while the update is applied and the system auto-reboots. NOTE: This update can take from several minutes to several hours depending on the speed of the network connection.
Searching video may not provide all stored video results for up to 2-3 hours after the update while the storage files are re-indexed.
